“Laudanum (name given to the substance used to calm women down in the XIX century) is the name of the series of 19 photo-engravings bu the Australian artist. The images compose a non-linear narratice about the relations between drugs and creativity through history. As a result we see a Victorian erotic melodrama involving two female characters. Power, submission, violence and eroticism are exploded through a high society woman and her young asian maid in the turn of the century. Just as in every Tracy Moffatt work, the actors and the locations are produced and handled by the artist.
