Since the 90s, Laura Lima presents her work using living beings (humans, animals or plants) as material, building unexpected relations with the space and the architecture. The artist is aiming to defy convenient concepts within the art vocabulary, such as performance or installation, for instance. The way forms of human behaviour react to the complexity of social relations is as well object of the artist’s fascination, provoking a continuous exercise in constructing a glossary within the work itself.
