A Visita: Galeria Luisa Strina

CAETANO DE ALMEIDA Galeria Luisa Strina is pleased to present the solo exhibition of the Brazilian painter Caetano de Almeida, showing a series of drawings (pyrography on paper) and paintings, mixed media on canvas.

All the works in this show pretend to discuss the memory’s images and their possibilities of confrontation and annulation. Exploring the tensioned painting between opposite’s concepts, like popular and erudite, the real and the imaginary. It creates the possibility of neutralization of image and subject, giving continuity to the idea of transformation, cutting up, and resetting traditional images in the search for new visual meanings.
